Sorry for the hiatus folks, but life has been extremely busy lately. I recently acquired my very first food project, which I am so excited about. I'll have more details in a later post, but it involves curating, styling, and shooting my own food. This is something I've only dreamed about doing, and I'm incredibly thrilled to have this opportunity and to actually be making it happen.
Over the last six months or so, I've begun my own collection of props and equipment, from decorative dishes to backgrounds and foam board. However, for this particular shoot I knew I needed many more options. And so I visited my first prop rental warehouse last week, which was a huge milestone for me and probably one of the coolest things ever.
Lost and Found Props is basically a giant room filled from floor to ceiling with an endless amount of options -- not only dishware, but pots, pans, fabrics -- practically anything you could ever want. And the most incredible thing is that everything is organized by style and color. It's like an OCD haven, and I spent more than an hour meticulously browsing through every item. I had a few general ideas of what I was searching for, but in the end it sort of came together organically. I couldn't help but get lost in the moment, and to be honest, I didn't want to leave! Just thinking about it now makes me excited to go back again :)
Can't wait to share the photos from my shoot and talk more about what I've been working on these last few days! Until then, here are some snaps I took while at the prop warehouse.
